About
Me

Jess Profile image.png

I live on the beautiful South Coast with my husband, and cheeky little cat! I absolutely love indoor plants, and constantly have a tea in hand.

If you reach out and book a session with me I will most likely have a big mug of tea and will be excited to connect with you.

I have had a long term passion for mental health and have always been enthusiastic about approaching it in a holistic way.

After finishing high school, I chose to pursue an Advanced Diploma in Counselling through the Australian Institute of Family Counselling.

I am passionate about building strong connections with others, and being able to provide a listening ear in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

In my private practice I have had the opportunity to journey with women as they learn to set boundaries, practice assertiveness, overcome barriers with self-esteem, and overall enhance their self-worth.

I continuously work on furthering my knowledge through research and study to ensure I am providing my clients with the best possible support and care.

I chose to enter the field of Disability Support Work to gain experience working with people with varying degrees of challenges.

I thoroughly enjoyed working in this role as it enabled me to build rapport with individuals, and to help people feel heard and valued for who they are.

I am a qualified and registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Having registration though ACA means that I am bound by their Code of Ethics. This creates accountability for Counsellors and ensures ethical practice. I also hold current Professional and Public Liability Insurance. Maintaining membership and insurance means I am required to meet their annual Supervision and Professional Development standards. I also hold clearance on Working with Vulnerable people, and have obtained a Police check.

With the onset of Coronavirus, it occurred to me that we are all learning to adapt and connect in this new environment. I want to create a space for people to process their emotions in a safe and accessible environment. If you find yourself struggling in this time, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I am here to journey with you.
